I I am one of those people. White coat syndrome and panic attack Appointments., Then high BP and heart rate elevated. Understanding of this disorder is very appreciated. I will not let any dr. talk to me any medication for this disorder. I have taken drugs before and no where quickly, with side effects and er visits for normal readings, no thanks. We know our body better than anyone. I think a dr. who has experienced panic disorder may be the best help of all. We are a special race, held in high esteem others nature, compassionate and loving. Some feel their personallity anxious and we must learn to live with it. Reassureance helps us cope. It is a disorder and, yes, benzodiazepines help once in a while. We are not addicts, are phobic. With a disorder. We are very sensitive to people, HSP, google it.
Karen, I have what is commonly known as white coat syndrome as well, but is a symptom of my anxiety disorder, not a simple phobia. However, we also have high blood pressure should therefore be on medication because I could not control with my diet (I took home for two months rather than in a doctor's office or other clinic to confirm).
